there have been a lot of original tamagotchis created over the years, sadly a lot of them havent shown up in a really long time or just arent canon at all! this page is to focus in on a lot of these forgotten or abanadonded characters since i really like a lot of them! i will mostly be showing the abandoned characters of the vintage era, but a lot of connection tamagotchis can also be considered abandoned. also i will be leaving some characters out for various reasons

THE ANCESTORS!(or protogotchis as a lot of my friends call them!)

a honestly super interesting forgotten group of tamagotchi characters! the ancestors are a group of tamagotchis that, as far as i know, were only seen once on a single page of the tamagotchi research report book! they're existence is really important to tamagotchi lore actually, as implied by their name here, they are canon ancestors of the tamagotchis!

5 tamagotchis are shown on the book page, sadly none of them have canon names so it makes it a bit hard to refer to them indivually. each of them has a really different design compared to the other ones, i think theyre really cool! i think my personal favorite is probably the second one from the top! it appears that two of the tamagotchis might be in canon extinct though which is sad... the reason that! some of my friends refer to this group of characters as the protogotchis is because! as far as i know it seems that they were based on tamagotchis that were created early in devolpment! i cant fully confirm this, but i did see an image containing what seemed to be early devolpment tamagotchis! i dont know exactly where the image orignates from though, so its hard to fully confirm this! if they did base the characters on prototype tamagotchis that is!!!!such a cool way to impliment franchise history!! sadly, after the connection reboot, they were completely wiped from canon, actually being replaced in the role of being tamagotchi ancestors! its really sad that these characters are just gone...

IYATCHIS!

a really wild group of forgotten characters! iyatchis only really appeared during the vintage era, being entirely removed from tamagotchi after the connection reboot as far as i know. iyatchis are very interesting, they can be described as a tamagotchi but extremely violent! some even carrying around weapons!! a lot of their designs are based on already existing tamagotchis, like iyatchi ginjirotchi!

not every character seems to have an iyatchi variant though as far as i know! there can be iyatchi variant in other tamagotchi subspecies, such as the mushitchi! iyatchis appeared a lot through the vintage era, mostly on packaging or in the background of some art pieces! theres this one location in early tamagotchi called tamagotchi land which is! where i got the inspiration for the site name! in tamagotchi land its said to have an 'iyatchi horror world' attraction! im guessing its kind of like a haunted house! i dont know if its ever been shown what it looks like inside, but from the outside it kind of has a rocky texture! in the research report book it does say that iyatchis apparently orignate from comics that tamagotchis read, but also seem to be real! iyatchis never actually appeard on the physical pets, only really being seen on the packaging! i dont exactly know every piece of media they appear in, they havent appeared in a lot as far as i know, but they did make a cameo in the n64 game which is actually really cool! again, after the connection reboot in 2004, iyatchis never appeared again in tamagotchi media. i! honestly really like the iyatchis! they are a little scary but i really do like them and think theyre interesting!i dont know if theyll ever come back but if they do! i will be very excited!

COSMOTCHI!

there is a lot of specific vintage characters i could've focused on but i really want to talk about Cosmotchi! Cosmotchi originates from the american Tamagotchi tv pilot, Tamagotchi video adventures!! as far as its know, he only appeared during TVA, he played a pretty big role during it! he also is voiced by frank welker through out the cartoon!

not a lot is known about cosmotchi actually! you dont learn a lot about him from TVA, only really learning about his general personaltiy! hes very kind towards a lot of the tamagotchis during TVA, but he does have some really ominous or rude moments! another really interesting part about his character is his design! his design is really unique compared to a lot of other tamagotchis, being a lot taller than the other tamagotchis!!! also some parts of his design kind of line up with the ancestors so that!!might imply something! cosmotchi is honestly one of my favorite characters i just! really like him! sadly, cosmotchi wasnt even around that much in the vintage era, only really known to appear in TVA :(. as far as i know, he doesnt even really have any offical art aside from whats shown on the tva box. however!! a while ago i was looking around trying to search up tamagotchi stuff to find anything i havent seen yet, and found a book! i havent been able to find a lot of info about it, aside from the name (どこ2たまごっち) and three pages from a listing! one of the pages has an image of the tamagotchi theme park, tamagotchi land! i didnt really notice anything weird about until!! i looked over to the far right of the image!!

theres this weird purple shape over to the right of this image! i cant be fully sure about this since i dont own the book and havent been able to find the full image of this page but! i think it maybe could be cosmotchi maybe! the listing cut the image off right where the image ends so its! really hard to tell if it is but you can maybe see a bit of cosmotchis swirl! if it is him then i think its interesting!! and i would be really happy to see him! sadly, much like a lot of others characters shown here, cosmotchi again vanished after the connection reboot. he got his name reused for another character actually!

a lot of characters from the vintage era got removed after the reboot happened, some only showing up rarely in! mobile games or anniversary art. it seems pretty common in tamagotchi for bandai to create and abanadon tamagotchis :( its really upsetting to see so many characters just vanishing
